How to Add Custom Template in Blog?

What is a Custom Template?

Custom templates are a page (or group of pages) you create yourself and then save as a template for reuse on your site. It's an efficient way to set up pages that share common content, layout or sub-page hierarchy.

How to Apply Custom Template?

1. Sign in to your blog.
2. From the Dashboard section, click on Theme.
3. On the top right corner, you'll see Backup/Restore button. Click on it.

Click on Backup/Restore

4. From the new dialogue box that appears first backup the existing theme.
5. If you've downloaded Custom Template already then extract the zip file.

Click Download Theme

6. Now upload new theme file (.xml) file by clicking the Choose file button.

You're done. Once the theme goes live you can refresh home page of your blog to see the new custom theme is applied. I've a separate article that houses list of custom templates.
