What is Google Webmaster Tool?

When you open Google Webmaster Tools page you will see there are four menus:

1. Search Appearence
2. Search Traffic
3. Google Index
4. Crawl

When you open Google Webmaster Tools for the first time you'll see the page as below.

You have to begin by Add Property which means adding your blog/website. In the empty field add the URL of the blog you own. Then Click on Add Property.
Once you have added your website then your webmaster page will look somewhat like this:

But this is not the end. You have to verify ownership of your blog from webmasters. This is very easy. Keep reading below.

How to verify Ownership of your blog?

In order to verify ownership of your website/blog make sure you have first added the property by following above steps. With that being done we have to follow the steps below:

1. Click on Manage Property.
2. Select Add or Remove Users.
3. When the link opens, click on Manage Property Users.
4. You'll be redirected to verification page. 5. By default, it will show this message:

6. Click on Verify Using a Different Method.
7. Select HTML Tag Option.

8. After that copy that tag and paste it to your blog's HTML code available under Edit HTML  option from Themes window. This is to be pasted right below <head> syntax.
9. Save theme.
10. Come back to webmaster page and click Verify and you're done.

So this way you can verify ownership of your website/blog at webmasters.
