Step 1: Sign Up on Facebook

Select the category you’re creating the Facebook Page for. If your business type comes under more than one of the given category options, choose the one your customers are most likely to interpret when they know about your business.

After choosing a business type, a box will open where further details, like the name of your business, its address, and your Page category are to be filled in. Categories are basically branches within the larger business category you’ve chosen earlier. When you start typing in the category field, you’ll see a drop-down list of category options to choose from.

When you're good to move on, Click on Get Started.



You must keep in mind, clicking the above button will automatically accept your approval to the TnCs of Page Creation.

Step 2: Add Page Picture and Page Cover Photo

This is very important that you create a good impression from your Page's Display Picture and its cover photo. Both of which create a professional image of your Facebook Page. It goes without saying, such photos should be informative and relevant to your business title/theme.

Another thing worth noting is the cropping of Page Display Picture. There is a valid reason why I am writing about it. You'll notice the page picture gets circled on some places and usually appears square on other. Thus, it is advisable to keep important detailing in the centre of picture rather than at corners.

After all such calculations, click on Upload Profile Picture.

Next, you got to choose your cover image, the most appealing image on your Facebook Business Page. This image should depict the theme of your brand and speak out your brand nature. It will display at 820 x 312 pixels on PC or 640 x 360 pixels on mobile. The image must be at least 400 pixels wide and 150 pixels high.



Once you’ve selected an apt image, click Upload a Cover Photo.

However, you can't just create the username of your brand new business page. You'll have to abide by some rules for that.

Before you can create a username for the supervised business page, the following conditions must be met:

  1. The business page must already have at least 25 Likes
  2. Your personal Facebook account needs to be verified
  3. For your personal Facebook profile, a username must be defined

Unfortunately, Facebook didn't mention these prerequisites and instead only issues the above mentioned, meaningless error message.

3(b). Adding Short Description of your Page

This is the space to tell people about your business. It needs to be a couple of sentences (maximum 155 characters). Click Add a Short Description, then just share the basic teaser text that can fetch healthy amount of visitors. You can add a longer description later on.

3(c). Fill up your About Page Section
